Coral Rx was developed in 2006 for two purposes: to treat corals suffering with parasites, and as a prophylactic measure to promote healthy corals before parasites or bacterial infections become harmful. Coral Rx is tough on parasites, yet gentle on your coral (contains no iodine or oxidizers) allowing you to be proactive in protecting your investment.

Coral Rx (8oz) is ideal for retail store sales, and produces approximately 12 gallons of coral dip.
Coral Rx Pro (1oz ) is ideal for online orders to reduce shipping cost, and produces approximately 17 gallons.

    Independently Tested

Coral Rx was independently tested by Andrew Lynford, M.S. in Biology from Hofstra University. This investigation attempted to quantify the efficacy of three chemical flatworm controls: Flatworm Exit, Coral Rx, and Povidone. His research is available in a featured article published in Advanced Aquarist, April 2009. Below are excerpts of his findings:.

    • Coral Rx was the most effective treatment
    • Coral Rx performed well as a coral dip, and it would be advantageous for coral aquaculturists, wholesalers, retailers, aquariums, and hobbyists to use this product when quarantining newly purchased corals.
    • Chemical treatments are utilized as a preventative protocol used to eradicate flatworms before they are introduced into an aquarium. These chemical treatments are referred to as a coral dips.
    • Quarantining corals and live rock with coral dips is the best way to deal with marine flatworms because it prevents their introduction, and circumvents the problems associated with convolutrilobid toxin release.
    • Harvesting coral reef taxa (species) to replace livestock lost through convolutriloba toxin release is environmentally costly, and should be prevented by using coral dips.

Coral Rx a different type of coral dip

Coral Rx was designed by keeping the health of your coral in mind. Our proprietary blend of natural ingredients contains no iodine, which is known to stain corals, nor does Coral Rx contain oxidizers whose by-products are often toxic and continue to react with surrounding tissue. Independent research also questions the effectiveness of iodine treatments. Please take a look at this feature article in Advanced Aquarist, April 2009.

Coral Rx removes many of the hard to deal with coral pests like Acropora-Eating Flatworms, Montipora-Eating Nudibranchs and Zoanthid-Eating Nudibranchs.

Promotes Coral Health Coral Rx is hard on parasites yet easy on corals making it a perfect prophylactic treatment protecting your coral investment. Whether or not you quarantine your corals before putting them in your aquarium, a dip in Coral Rx decreases the probability of adding a parasite into your aquarium eco-system.

    Usage

Coral Rx can be used in treating many types of live corals; soft, LPS and SPS. Coral Rx should be used in treating corals that have parasites or other bacterial infections. Additionally, it should be used as a prophylactic treatment before bringing live coral into your aquarium.

Coral Rx is effective in removing the following parasites:

    1. - Acropora Eating Flatworms (AEFW)
    2. - Montipora Eating Nudibranchs
    3. - Bristleworms
    4. - Zoanthid Eating Spiders
    5. - Red Flatworms

Also aids in the treatment of:

    1. - Filamentous Hair Algae
    2. - Rapid Tissue Necrosis (RTN)
    3. - Slow Tissue Necrosis (STN)
    4. - Bacterial Infections & More

Coral Rx should not be used on fish, shrimp, crabs, snails, clams or other invertebrates. We have not tested CoralRx's effectiveness on Acropora Red Bugs.

    Directions

    • Dosage per gallon of dip
      1. - Coral Rx: 20ml or 4 capfuls
      2. - Coral Rx Pro: 30 drops
    • Shake bottle of Coral Rx. Add dosage as stated above based on product purchased to 1 gallon (3.8 liters) of saltwater from aquarium. Mix well. Using a small power head, keep the water moving and place coral in the coral dip. If you do not have a power head, gently shake coral in the coral dip. Keep coral in the coral dip for 5 10 minutes. After 5 10 minutes, remove coral and discard the coral dip. Do not reuse the coral dip as parasite may release toxins. Rinse coral with clean saltwater and return to aquarium. Do not add Coral Rx directly into aquarium.

Flatworm Rx is an exceptionally fast and effective treatment for Flatworms in saltwater aquariums. This innovative product contains no chemicals, medications or pesticides. Flatworm Rx is safe for both reef and fish only aquariums.

    How to use product

Siphon out as many flatworms as possible before dosing. Add 4 drops of Flatworm Rx for every 10 gallons (37.9 liters) of water. Do not dose more than one treatment in a 24-hour period. For best results, add in high flow areas one drop at a time. Do not stop the use of carbon or protein skimming when adding this product. Flatworms are extremely toxic to aquarium inhabitants.

It is very important to do a 25% water change once results are visible. Siphon out as many of the flatworms as possible when performing the water change. Repeat treatment as necessary.

Warning: This product is not intended for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children. If ingested, contact a physician or poison control center immediately.

Red Cyano Rx will quickly and effectively treat Cyano Bacteria in your aquarium without harming any of its inhabitants, when used as directed. Unlike some other products, Red Cyano Rx will not discolor your aquariums water. Red Cyano Rx is safe for all types of Saltwater Aquariums and will not harm any of your fish, corals or other reef invertebrates, when used as directed. This package will treat 400 gallons (1,514 liters).

    How to use product

For best results, siphon out as much Cyano Bacteria as possible from your aquarium. Remove a cup of water from your aquarium. Mix 1 level scoop of Red Cyano Rx in the cup for every 10 gallons (37.9 liters) of water in your aquarium. Dissolve thoroughly and pour solution into the aquarium. After 24 hours, you may turn ON Protein skimmer and ozone, although you may notice extra foam being produced by your Skimmer.

If Cyano Bacteria is still viable, 48 hours after treatment, perform a 25% water change and repeat dosage.

Note: It is recommended that the pH in your aquarium be greater than 8.0, before you begin to add Red Cyano Rx. The best time to start treatment is in the morning, when lighting first comes on. Also, it is important to perform a 25% water change, within 12 hours, following each dose.

You will need to discontinue the use of carbon, protein skimming, and ozone during the treatment period. Do not dose in the evenings when lighting is turned off. Do a 25% water change 5 days after treatment.

API MELAFIX Freshwater Fish Bacterial Infection Remedy soothes the transition from store to home by reducing the risk of your fish developing a disease. The fish you bought may already carry a disease. Disease is often difficult to detect, particularly in its early stages. Treat bacterial infections in your fish and reduce the risk of spreading illness to other fish with API MELAFIX Freshwater Fish Bacterial Infection Remedy. Bacterial diseases are caused mostly by dirty aquarium conditions and the addition of infected fish. Fish that are injured and have open wounds are especially susceptible, even in seemingly clean tanks. Bacterial infections, like fin and tail rot, eye cloud, pop eye, body slime and mouth fungus destroy tissue and other organs, and if left untreated, can cause death. API MELAFIX Freshwater Fish Bacterial Infection Remedy is an all-natural antibacterial treatment that heals open wounds, treats bacterial infections and promotes re-growth of damaged fins and tissue, usually within a week. Just add 5 ml per 10 gallons of aquarium water. It will not adversely affect the biological filter, alter the pH or discolor the water. For effective treatment, dose infected fish daily for 7 days, and continue afterward if necessary. Dose new fish daily for 3 days. Remove activated carbon from filter before use, if possible.
